Privacy Policy

A plain-language account of what Blessed Are You collects, why, who touches it, and how to get it deleted.

The short version

We collect what we need to give you a daily devotional and keep your journey in one place. We do not sell your data, we do not show third-party ads inside the app, and you can delete your account and its content at any time.

Who we are

Blessed Are You ("Blessed", "we", "us") is a Christian daily devotional app. We are the controller of the information described here. You can reach us through the Contact page in the app.

What we collect

  • Account details: your email address, a securely hashed password, your preferred language, and your role in the app. Authentication is handled by our platform provider, Base44.
  • Your entries: mood check-ins, evening reflections, gratitude notes, prayer requests, reading history, and habit logs.
  • Community posts: prayer requests you choose to post, whether you marked one as public, and which requests you have prayed for.
  • Billing details: your Stripe customer ID, subscription ID, plan, status, renewal date, and trial dates. Card numbers never reach our servers — Stripe handles them.
  • Device notifications: a push subscription endpoint so we can send the morning devotional to your device, only if you switch it on.
  • Usage and marketing data: which pages load, signup and subscription conversion events, and the Google Ads conversion tag. This uses cookies and localStorage.

What we do not collect

  • No payment card numbers or bank details.
  • No precise location, contacts, photos, or microphone audio.
  • No advertising profiles, and we do not sell or rent personal data to anyone.

Why we use it

  • To deliver your daily devotional, keep your streak, and show your own history back to you.
  • To operate your subscription and process payment through Stripe.
  • To show public prayer requests on the public prayer wall — only the posts you explicitly mark public.
  • To send the emails and notifications you asked for.
  • To understand how the app is used so we can improve it, and to measure whether our advertising works.

Who we share it with

We share only what each provider needs: Stripe for payments, Base44 for hosting, authentication, and email delivery, and Google for anonymous advertising measurement. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Your account content stays while your account exists. When you delete your account, your authored content is erased and your sign-in is removed — see below. Billing records are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require, and Stripe keeps its own transaction history under its own policy.

Deleting your account

Settings → Delete account erases your mood entries, reflections, gratitude notes, prayer requests, habit and reading logs, favorites, community posts, prayer support records, and device notification credentials. It also cancels any active subscription and removes your sign-in, so the email can no longer log in.

The only thing we keep is a billing record: the subscription reference (Stripe customer and subscription IDs, plan, status, and dates) with no personal content. We keep it so invoices, refunds, and tax filings remain correct. This page is the disclosure of that retention.

Your choices

  • Export your journey as a PDF from Settings.
  • Turn reminders and push notifications off at any time in Settings.
  • Delete your account and all authored content from Settings.
  • Ask us a question about your data through the Contact page.

Cookies and storage

We use localStorage and cookies for staying signed in, remembering preferences, and measuring advertising conversions. You can clear them from your browser settings, though you will be signed out.

Children and age

Blessed is for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Crisis situations

Blessed is not an emergency service and does not monitor your entries for risk. If you are in crisis in the United States, call or text 988, text HOME to 741741, or call 911. Childhelp is available at 1-800-422-4453.

Security

Passwords are stored hashed by our authentication provider, data is served over HTTPS, and access to your records is restricted to your account and the app administrators. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a unique password.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we will note the new date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, tell you in the app or by email.
